The eighth edition of the Arab Women’s Club Games 2025 will launch its shooting competitions on Friday at the 10-meter air rifle range at Al Dhaid Club in Sharjah. The Arab Women’s Club Games shooting competition features five teams representing the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Qatar, marking a significant milestone for women’s sports in the Arab region.
According to official announcements, the participating clubs include Sharjah Women’s Sports Club representing the UAE, Kuwait Shooting Club, the Saudi team, Al Riffa Club from Bahrain, and Sports Shooting Club from Qatar. A technical meeting was held at the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation headquarters to prepare teams and officials ahead of the competition launch.
Technical Preparations for Arab Women’s Shooting Events
The technical meeting brought together administrative and technical leaders, federation representatives, refereeing committees, coaches, and team administrators from all participating clubs. Among those in attendance were Sheikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, head of the supervision and follow-up committee for the Arab Women’s Club Games, along with tournament director Moza Al Shamsi and deputy director Al Yazieh Al Suwaidi.
Additionally, the meeting included Saleh Ashour, head of the technical coordination committee, and Tamer Gomaa, representative of the Arab League and member of the technical secretariat of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports Council. Their presence underscored the importance of the tournament at the Arab regional level.
Commitment to Fair Competition Standards
Officials emphasized the importance of adhering to technical and organizational instructions as well as approved regulations during the meeting. These measures aim to ensure smooth competition flow while achieving the highest standards of fairness and organization, reflecting the development that Arab women’s shooting sport has witnessed at the club level.
Meanwhile, representatives from the National Anti-Doping Agency presented detailed explanations regarding approved procedures and instructions. The presentation stressed the importance of awareness among athletes and the necessity of coordinating with the specialized committee if any athlete needs to take medications for health reasons.
Growing Participation in Women’s Shooting Competitions
The shooting competition represents one of several sporting disciplines featured in the eighth Arab Women’s Club Games. The five-nation participation demonstrates growing interest in women’s shooting sport across the Gulf and wider Arab region, where investment in women’s athletics has expanded significantly in recent years.
