The event, hosted by Indian Ambassador to the UAE Dr. Deepak Mittal, highlighted the deepening UAE-India strategic partnership and the growing cooperation between the two nations across multiple sectors.
The reception took place in Abu Dhabi and drew senior officials, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the UAE, as well as Emirati and Indian business leaders and members of the Indian community residing in the country. According to the ambassador’s remarks, the gathering provided an opportunity to celebrate the milestone with a distinguished strategic partner.
Ambassador Highlights UAE-India Strategic Partnership
Dr. Deepak Mittal expressed his appreciation for Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan’s attendance during his speech at the ceremony. The Indian ambassador thanked the UAE for its significant commitment to promoting tolerance and coexistence values, and for its continued support of bilateral relations between both countries.
The ambassador noted that the occasion allowed India to honor the UAE as an exceptional strategic partner. He praised the Emirates for achieving extraordinary accomplishments over more than five decades, describing the nation as an inspiring model of comprehensive development driven by the wise vision of its leadership that creates the future rather than waiting for it.
Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Built on Shared Vision
Dr. Mittal emphasized that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and India is founded on shared ambition and vision. He characterized the UAE-India relations as firmly established, built upon mutual trust and common aspirations that continue to strengthen with each passing year.
The diplomatic ties between the two nations have witnessed significant growth in recent years, spanning trade, investment, energy, technology, and cultural exchange. The Indian community in the UAE represents one of the largest expatriate populations in the country, contributing substantially to the Emirates’ economic development and social fabric.
Growing Economic and Cultural Cooperation
However, the relationship extends far beyond diplomatic courtesy, as both nations have developed robust economic partnerships. India remains one of the UAE’s top trading partners, with bilateral trade reaching substantial volumes annually and both governments working to expand cooperation into emerging sectors.
Additionally, the UAE’s emphasis on tolerance and coexistence aligns with India’s diverse cultural landscape, creating natural synergies between the two nations. The presence of business leaders from both countries at the reception underscored the important role that private sector engagement plays in strengthening bilateral ties.
Meanwhile, cultural exchanges and people-to-people connections continue to flourish, with the large Indian diaspora serving as a living bridge between the two societies. These connections facilitate understanding and create opportunities for collaboration across various fields, from education to innovation.
The ambassador expressed confidence that both countries are moving together toward a more prosperous future. This optimism reflects ongoing discussions and initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation in strategic sectors including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development, areas where both nations have demonstrated significant commitment and investment.
As both countries continue to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership, further high-level exchanges and agreements are expected in the coming months, though specific timelines for new initiatives have not been announced. The Republic Day celebration serves as a reminder of the enduring friendship and mutual respect that characterize UAE-India relations.
