A community carnival organized by ADQ has launched at Khalifa Park in Abu Dhabi, running until February 8 as part of the UAE’s Year of the Family celebrations. The third edition of the ADQ Community Carnival brings together families for entertainment, education, and cultural activities designed to strengthen community bonds and highlight the importance of family values in Emirati society.

Anas Jawdat Al Barghouthi, Chief Operating Officer at ADQ, announced that the carnival opened yesterday and will continue for ten days. According to Al Barghouthi, seventeen companies from ADQ’s investment portfolio are participating in the event, including Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi Airports, Tadweer Group, Etihad Rail, and Emirates Water and Electricity Company.

ADQ Community Carnival Aligns with Year of the Family Goals

The carnival’s design reflects the objectives of the Year of the Family initiative, which emphasizes preserving family bonds and their role in building a prosperous society. Al Barghouthi stated that the event focuses on instilling values of cooperation, communication, and harmony that characterize UAE society while ensuring their continuity for future generations.

Additionally, the carnival serves as part of ADQ’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility program. This initiative aims to achieve sustainable development, improve quality of life, enhance social stability, build community cohesion, and protect the environment, according to the company’s statement.

Family-Friendly Activities and Interactive Experiences

The 2025 carnival features activities designed for all family members, including entertainment and educational programs, competitive games, contests, raffles, and prizes. Al Barghouthi explained that dedicated spaces have been allocated for families to gather in a safe and distinctive celebratory atmosphere.

This year’s edition offers numerous surprises, creative activities, and interactive experiences for children. Visitors can enjoy outdoor cinema screenings, a diverse selection of foods reflecting local culture, and interactive experiences throughout the carnival days, the report indicates.

Showcasing National Economic Contributions

The community carnival aims to highlight the activities of vital sectors that touch individuals’ daily lives. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the positive impact these companies have on supporting the national economy and local community in the UAE, according to organizers.

Meanwhile, Al Barghouthi noted that the carnival presents a bright picture of the investment portfolio companies’ activities in developing diverse sectors in the country. These include health, transportation, energy, and those concerned with environment and quality of life, among others.

In contrast to previous editions, this year’s carnival carries a clear message of supporting the development of social infrastructure in the UAE and backing the sustainable economic development journey, Al Barghouthi said.

Visiting Hours and Accessibility

The carnival welcomes visitors for ten days from 4:30 PM until 10:00 PM on weekdays and until 11:00 PM on weekends. However, children under twelve years of age can enter and enjoy the carnival activities free of charge, making it accessible to families across different income levels.

Furthermore, morning school visits are being organized to allow students to participate in workshops and interactive experiences. These educational opportunities enable young people to engage with the participating companies and learn about their contributions to national development.

The carnival will continue operating at Khalifa Park through February 8, with organizers expecting sustained family attendance throughout the ten-day period as the UAE celebrates Year of the Family nationwide.
