Al Habtoor Dominates Early Against Ghantoot
The match between Al Habtoor and Ghantoot featured intense competition from the opening chukker. Ghantoot initially played with extreme caution, allowing Al Habtoor to capitalize on opportunities and dominate the first chukker with three unanswered goals.
Al Habtoor maintained their momentum into the second chukker, adding a fourth goal to extend their lead. However, the third chukker witnessed a remarkable comeback attempt from Ghantoot, who scored four consecutive goals to level the match at 4-4.
The equalizer proved short-lived as Al Habtoor’s standout player Baiugar, who finished with five goals, restored his team’s advantage with a fifth score. The home side regained control after the break, ending the fourth chukker with an 8-4 lead before sealing the victory with two additional goals in the final chukker.
Dubai Wolves Withstand Late Pressure
Meanwhile, Dubai Wolves continued their strong performances at the Dubai Gold Cup Polo Championship despite facing determined opposition from Zedan. The first chukker ended in a 1-1 draw, setting the stage for an exciting contest.
The second chukker saw Dubai Wolves assert their dominance with three goals, building a commanding 4-1 advantage. Additionally, their aggressive play kept Zedan on the defensive for much of the period.
In contrast, Zedan mounted a spirited comeback in the third chukker, narrowing the deficit to 5-4 and reigniting the competitive atmosphere. The pressure from their opponents motivated Dubai Wolves to respond decisively with three more goals in the fourth and final chukker.
Tournament Format and Remaining Fixtures
The polo tournament features a round-robin format with six participating clubs competing for the prestigious Dubai Gold Cup trophy. Each team will face multiple opponents over the course of the championship, which spans several days of competition at the Al Habtoor facilities.
