The Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy Youth Council continues to advance its role as a national platform aimed at empowering young talent within the institution and enhancing their participation in decision-making processes. According to a statement released on February 8, 2026, the council supports institutional excellence while aligning with the United Arab Emirates’ national objectives for developing diplomatic leadership capabilities.
The youth council operates within an innovative environment focused on developing leadership and professional competencies among its members. Sarah Al Mansoori, President of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy Youth Council, told the Emirates News Agency that the council represents an institutional arm supporting the academy’s vision of empowering young professionals in the diplomatic field.
Youth Empowerment in Diplomatic Training
The Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy Youth Council works to provide a stimulating environment that enables young professionals to develop their leadership skills and enhance their active participation in institutional and diplomatic work. According to Al Mansoori, the council is committed to launching qualitative initiatives that align with national and international priorities, contributing to the preparation of a diplomatically aware generation capable of keeping pace with global changes.
The council emphasizes that investing in youth represents an investment in the future of diplomacy, peacemaking, and building sustainable international partnerships. These efforts reflect the UAE’s broader commitment to positioning young professionals as essential partners in achieving security, stability, and sustainable development on both regional and international levels.
Institutional Structure and Strategic Objectives
The youth council comprises a president, vice president, and general coordinator, in addition to specialized work teams covering initiatives and projects, planning and development, communications and partnerships, support services, and data and statistics. This structure ensures efficient implementation and integration of institutional roles within the diplomatic academy framework.
Additionally, the council seeks to strengthen the academy’s presence locally and internationally through the launch of qualitative youth initiatives. The organization focuses on building diplomatic leadership, consolidating institutional identity and national values, and representing the academy in regional and international youth networks and forums.
Key Initiatives and International Engagement
The Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy Youth Council has launched several signature programs reflecting its role in youth empowerment and community engagement. These include the “Tamakkan” program in collaboration with Tadweer Youth Council for youth training and empowerment, and the Young Diplomatic Leaders program in partnership with the Arab Youth Center.
Meanwhile, the council has aligned its work with United Nations agendas through youth, peace, and security initiatives consistent with UN Security Council Resolution 2250. The “Coffee Corner” initiative provides supportive space for Emirati entrepreneurs, while council members participated in the World Youth Summit 2025, representing the UAE in international forums.
Peace and Security Awareness
In commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the UN Youth, Peace and Security Agenda, the youth council organized a dialogue session titled “Youth, Peace and Security 2025.” The event aimed to raise regional awareness about this agenda, encourage youth participation in peace issues, and enhance the UAE’s national presence on the international stage.
However, the council’s work extends beyond individual events to encompass systematic translation of UN agendas into national policies and sustainable institutional practices. This approach positions young professionals as key partners in achieving regional and international security objectives through diplomatic channels.
The council continues to develop new programs and partnerships that will further integrate academic and institutional pathways within the diplomatic academy. Authorities have not confirmed specific timelines for upcoming initiatives, though the council’s ongoing activities suggest sustained commitment to youth empowerment in diplomatic affairs.
