The seventh edition of the UAE Jewels Exhibition concluded in Sharjah after a successful five-day event that attracted thousands of visitors and more than 180 exhibitors from around the world. Organized by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the jewellery exhibition showcased over 500 local and international brands from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Singapore, Thailand, India, and Pakistan.
The event reinforced its position as a leading platform in the global jewellery industry, featuring specialized exhibitors in gold, silver, diamonds, precious stones, natural pearls, and luxury watches. According to organizers, the exhibition introduced several innovations that elevated its status among international jewellery trade events.
Luxury Pavilion Debuts at Jewellery Exhibition
For the first time, the exhibition launched the “Luxury Pavilion,” a dedicated showcase for high-end brands and fine jewellery. The pavilion was designed to house exclusive creations from select designers and prestigious international houses. It attracted distinguished visitors including prominent collectors, major buyers, and industry experts, achieving exceptional attendance that transformed it into a destination for connoisseurs.
Meanwhile, the second edition of the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition was held under the main event’s umbrella, aiming to revive the Emirati pearl diving heritage. The pearls exhibition organized specialized evenings in strategic partnership with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), highlighting the cultural significance of natural pearls in the region’s history.
Supporting Local Designers and Craftspeople
The “Saagat Al Emarat” platform, one of the Sharjah Chamber’s initiatives, continued supporting Emirati designers by connecting their creations with markets. According to event organizers, the platform achieved 10 percent growth in the number of registered female designers, demonstrating increasing interest in local jewellery design.
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the UAE Jewels Exhibition has become a strategic platform among trade events playing a pivotal role in supporting the knowledge economy adopted by the emirate. He emphasized that the jewellery exhibition represents a fundamental pillar in the Chamber’s strategy to enhance the emirate’s position as a regional and international center for gold and jewellery manufacturing.
Additionally, Al Owais noted that the Chamber is committed to providing a comprehensive entrepreneurial environment supporting small and medium enterprises in the creative industries sector. This contributes to achieving the UAE Centennial targets by empowering young national talents and equipping them with tools necessary for sustainable competitiveness in the precious metals and gemstones market.
International Participation Strengthens Market Position
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, confirmed that the seventh edition established new standards in the event’s journey through launching the Luxury Pavilion and expanding international knowledge partnerships. He indicated that the exhibition succeeded in achieving its objectives while combining commercial dimensions with innovation in design and supporting creative industries.
However, Al Midfa added that the continuous growth in the number of international pavilions, alongside the increase in Emirati designers and exhibitors, reflects growing confidence in the jewellery exhibition as a global platform. The event combines commercial excellence with preservation of heritage in gold, pearls, and precious stones, according to the executive.
In contrast to larger international jewellery fairs, the Sharjah event focuses on blending traditional craftsmanship with modern luxury design. Mona Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office at Sharjah Chamber and responsible for the Saagat Al Emarat platform, explained that participation in the UAE Jewels Exhibition represents the most important stop in the platform’s annual agenda.
Furthermore, Al Suwaidi noted that exclusive new collections were unveiled, embodying the fusion between heritage symbols and contemporary forms using inherited manual techniques and modern technological tools. She stressed that the platform’s participation supports transforming young designers’ passion into sustainable brands competing in global markets.
Organizers have not yet announced dates for the eighth edition, though the event is expected to continue its annual schedule with potential expansion of international partnerships and exhibitor participation.
