American technology firm Magnum Technology Center has unveiled a major expansion in Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah, launching two new enclosed facilities spanning approximately 53,806 square feet. The manufacturing and technology solutions provider, which specializes in the energy sector, announced the development as part of its ongoing strategy to enhance production of modular data center packages, power distribution systems, cooling units, and rapidly growing hydrogen energy projects. With this latest addition, Magnum’s total land investment in Hamriyah Free Zone has reached approximately 800,000 square feet.
The expansion represents a continuation of the company’s investment journey in the free zone since 2022, according to officials. Saud Salem Al Mazrouei, director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, inaugurated the new facilities alongside Magnum executives and senior authority officials during a tour of the production, storage, and assembly areas.
Advanced Infrastructure for Energy Manufacturing
The new enclosed facilities feature advanced operational infrastructure designed to meet the highest safety and quality standards. According to the authority, the protected and organized work environment supports operational continuity under various weather conditions while enhancing material handling efficiency and workflow optimization. The facilities incorporate modern technologies aligned with international standards in operations management and production.
During the inauguration tour, officials examined detailed mechanisms of work within the facilities and their role in improving operational efficiency. The infrastructure is designed to reduce waste, increase completion rates, and support both current and future manufacturing needs. Additionally, the expansion aims to bolster Magnum’s regional and international growth plans in the energy sector.
Strategic Location and Market Access
Al Mazrouei emphasized that Magnum’s expansion in Hamriyah Free Zone reflects Sharjah’s vision to strengthen its position as a hub for global corporate investments. The development supports the authority’s strategy to create integrated infrastructure and logistics systems serving the energy sector and related industries. He noted that the free zone provides comprehensive services to facilitate investor requirements, including development of advanced industrial facilities and adoption of innovative smart tools.
The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority has implemented advanced digital solutions leveraging artificial intelligence and big data to streamline decision-making processes and enhance operational performance. These technological innovations contribute to improved business growth support systems, according to the official statement. Meanwhile, the strategic location enables rapid access to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Growth in Modular Data Centers and Hydrogen Energy
Sajeev John, Vice President of Magnum Technology Center, expressed satisfaction with the expansion, stating it will provide covered and equipped space for continuous workflow and improved material handling. The executive confirmed that the new facilities will enhance the center’s operational efficiency and support expansion plans for manufacturing modular data centers and accessories. Furthermore, the infrastructure will strengthen capabilities in cooling systems and hydrogen energy projects.
John explained that Hamriyah Free Zone was selected for this project due to its unique advantages and diverse expertise in both traditional and renewable energy sectors. The facilities also benefit from streamlined processes for foreign investors, he added. In contrast to traditional open-air manufacturing sites, the enclosed environment ensures better quality control and worker safety standards.
Regional Manufacturing Hub
Hamriyah Free Zone has established itself as a major industrial and logistics center for oil and gas industries, hosting more than 2,000 companies specialized in petrochemical industries, oil and gas storage, and ship refueling services. The authority continues efforts to attract quality investments in traditional and renewable energy fields while maintaining high environmental standards, according to Al Mazrouei. However, specific environmental certifications or compliance measures were not detailed in the announcement.
The new facilities are expected to enable Magnum to expand into new markets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
