The Ajman Businesswomen Council has launched a new initiative to advance women’s industrial entrepreneurship in the United Arab Emirates. The “Takaful” initiative for women’s industrial entrepreneurship was unveiled during the “Makers of Tomorrow” forum, which aims to create a sustainable industrial ecosystem for entrepreneurs and support the transformation of ideas into innovative industrial projects.
The forum took place at the Fairmont Ajman Hotel, according to statements from council leadership. Engineer Aisha Khalfan bin Bader Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the Ajman Businesswomen Council Board of Directors, attended alongside board members, officials from Emirates Development Bank, government representatives, factory owners and managers from Ajman Chamber members, and businesswomen from the council.
Women’s Industrial Entrepreneurship Initiative Targets Three Key Sectors
The Takaful initiative focuses on three primary sectors: textiles, food, and perfumes and cosmetics. Iman Obaid Al Soum, Secretary General of the Ajman Businesswomen Council, explained that the program aims to provide an industrial environment based on tools and resources that support launching industrial projects and building a supportive network for the women’s industrial entrepreneurship sector.
According to Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali, President of the Ajman Businesswomen Council, the council places special importance on women’s industrial entrepreneurship with the goal of supporting and empowering female project owners. The initiative enhances their contributions to industrial sector development by facilitating access to financing, technical support, acquisition of administrative and financial skills, and expanding product markets through specialized exhibitions and marketing platforms.
Strategic Alignment with National Vision and Year of the Family
The launch of the women’s industrial entrepreneurship initiative aligns with the council’s efforts coinciding with the “Year of the Family 2026,” according to Engineer Al Nuaimi. She noted that the program contributes to enhancing economic and social stability for women and families in general, while providing a sustainable platform for training and capacity building.
Additionally, the initiative supports achieving the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030. The council emphasized its role in creating an integrated industrial platform that facilitates collaboration and partnerships between the council and government and private entities concerned with developing the industrial sector.
Expert Sessions Address Practical Business Development
The forum featured educational sessions designed to equip female entrepreneurs with practical knowledge. Khaled Moqalled, Secretary General of the Arab Union for Entrepreneurship, presented a session titled “From a Small Idea to a Promising Industrial Project,” which covered elements of feasibility studies for industrial projects, opportunities in small industries for businesswomen, and secrets to successful product development.
Meanwhile, participating factory owners shared success stories and mechanisms for product development and market expansion during a session titled “Gateway to Industrial Opportunities with Suppliers.” This session enhanced knowledge exchange and experience sharing between women industrial entrepreneurs and participating factories.
Financing Opportunities and Support Mechanisms
Mariam Saif Al Nuaimi, Deputy CEO for Distribution and Services at Emirates Development Bank, presented an overview of financing opportunities and support mechanisms available to female entrepreneurs. The presentation aimed to empower women and enhance their ability to develop their industrial projects, explaining to attendees the EDB 360 platform and ecosystem dedicated to entrepreneurs in the Emirates.
Interested entrepreneurs can register for the Takaful project by contacting the Ajman Businesswomen Council through social media platforms or visiting the council’s headquarters. The council has not specified a registration deadline for the initiative at this time.
