The upcoming Ramadan drama season is drawing a diverse array of Arab actors and actresses, promising an exciting competitive landscape on television screens. Between familiar faces who regularly participate in Ramadan programming, stars returning after extended absences, and newcomers making their debut, the Egyptian Ramadan drama lineup for the coming season is shaping up to deliver significant variety and artistic competition.
According to industry reports, several high-profile performers are preparing their return to the annual television event. Actress Hind Sabri is making her comeback to Ramadan drama after a five-year hiatus with the series “Mana’a,” alongside Khaled Selim, Riad El Khouli, and others. Directed by Hussein El Menbawy, the series features Sabri portraying a wife who finds herself alone with three children following her husband’s murder. Her last Ramadan appearance on Egyptian screens was in 2021 with the series “Hegma Mortada.”
Meanwhile, actress Dorra joins the Ramadan race through the series “Ali Clay,” co-starring Ahmed El Awadi and Tarak El Desouki. According to production details, she plays a businesswoman managing commercial stores in the popular Tawfikia market who enters into professional conflicts with the male lead. Her previous Ramadan participation in Egyptian drama was in 2023 with Amr Saad in “El Aghar.”
Established Stars Continue Ramadan Drama Presence
Actor Eyad Nassar continues his consistent presence in Egyptian Ramadan drama with the series “Taht El Hisar,” starring opposite Menna Shalaby. Written by Ammar Sabry and directed by Peter Mimi, the production explores an emotional story between two characters. Nassar participated in last Ramadan’s “Zolm El Mastaba” and has built an extensive Ramadan portfolio including “Selet Rahem,” “Taghyeer Gaw,” and “El Nehaya.”
Additionally, actress Joumana Murad returns to Ramadan programming through “El Loun El Azrak,” alongside Ahmed Rizk, Ahmed Bedir, and Naglaa Badr. The series is written by Maryam Naoom and directed by Saad Hendawy. Murad’s last Ramadan appearance was two years ago with Yahya El Fakhrani in “Atabat El Bahga,” among numerous other Ramadan credits including “Baba El Magal” and “Khiyanet Ahd.”
Multiple Series Feature Recurring Performers
Actress Cynthia Khalifa maintains her Ramadan presence through two series this season: “We Nensa Elli Kan” with Yasmine Abdel Aziz and “Forsa Akhira” with Tarek Lotfy and Mahmoud Hemida. Her previous Ramadan work includes “Hadath Bel Fe’l,” “Dayman Amer,” and “Harb Ahliya,” demonstrating her established position in the annual television event.
However, actor Monzer Rayahneh takes on dual roles as well, participating in both “El King” with Mohamed Imam and Hanan Motawe, and “El Souk El Horra” with Mohamed Tharwat and Hala Fakher. His extensive Egyptian Ramadan drama history includes “Hakim Pasha,” “El Moalem,” “El Ekhtiyar 3,” and “Melhemet Moussa,” among others.
New Additions to Egyptian Ramadan Drama Roster
Actor Mohamed El Qess joins the Ramadan series “Had Aqsa,” starring Rogeena and directed by Maya Ashraf Zaki from a script by Hesham Hilal. El Qess previously participated two years ago with Somaya El Khashab in “Be 100 Ragel,” along with earlier roles in “Barghom El Qanoun” and “Mowdou Aaely.”
In contrast, actress Rakeen Saad participates in the Ramadan competition through “Ab Walakin” alongside Mohamed Farag and Hagar Ahmed. Her Ramadan credentials include “Wahet El Ghoroub,” “Bel Hagm El Aaely,” and “Azmet Montasaf El Omr,” establishing her as a recurring presence in the seasonal programming.
The complete broadcast schedule and premiere dates for these productions remain to be announced by Egyptian television networks as Ramadan approaches. Final production details and additional cast announcements are expected in the coming weeks as networks finalize their competitive lineups for the season.
