Archery competitions at the eighth edition of the Arab Women’s Club Games 2026 have reached their decisive stages, with teams from seven Arab nations competing in Sharjah. The tournament, featuring eight clubs representing the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Libya, and Palestine, has determined the finalists for both compound bow and recurve bow categories after a day of intense matches, according to reports from the event.
In the recurve bow team events, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and Abu Dhabi Archery Club advanced to the final following dominant semifinal performances. Sharjah’s team, comprising Maha Al Hosani, Hessa Al Awadhi, and Fatima Al Balushi, secured their spot with a commanding 6-0 victory over Bahrain’s Al Riffa Club.
Arab Women’s Club Games Archery Finals Set
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Archery Club earned their place in the championship match with a 5-3 win against Kuwait Shooting Club. The Abu Dhabi squad features Huda Al Ali, Mira Al Sayegh, and Maryam Al Sayegh. Kuwait and Al Riffa will compete for the bronze medal in the recurve bow team event.
The compound bow team competition will showcase an all-UAE final between Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and Abu Dhabi Archery Club. This matchup highlights the strength of Emirati archery programs at the Arab Women’s Club Games and promises an exciting conclusion to the team events.
Individual Competitions Feature Regional Talent
In the individual compound bow category, Iraqi archer Fatima Saad Al Mashhadani from Iraqi Airways Club advanced to the final after defeating Emirati competitor Mitha Al Nuaimi of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club 139-134 points. Al Mashhadani’s performance demonstrated strong form heading into the championship round.
Additionally, Emirati archer Amna Al Awadhi from Sharjah Women’s Sports Club secured her final berth with a 143-133 point victory over teammate Rawda Al Awadhi. The final will pit Al Awadhi against Al Mashhadani, while Rawda and Mitha will contest the bronze medal on Wednesday.
The recurve bow individual events produced equally competitive results. Maha Al Hosani of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club qualified for the final with a 6-2 win over Huda Al Ali from Abu Dhabi Archery Club, showcasing technical precision in the elimination rounds.
Qatar Archer Advances to Individual Final
In contrast, Qatari archer Reem Al Saei from Qatar Shooting Club dominated her semifinal match, defeating compatriot Maha Abdulhay 7-1 to reach the final. Al Saei will face Al Hosani in what promises to be a competitive championship match between two of the region’s top recurve archers.
However, Huda Al Ali and Maha Abdulhay still have an opportunity to claim bronze medals in their respective categories. The bronze medal matches are scheduled for Wednesday alongside the finals, according to tournament officials.
The archery competition at the Arab Women’s Club Games represents an important platform for developing women’s sports across the region. The tournament provides elite female archers opportunities to compete at high levels and gain international experience while representing their clubs and countries.
The finals for all archery categories are expected to take place on Wednesday, with both team and individual champions to be crowned.
