The UAE humanitarian ship Saqr has arrived at Al-Arish port in Egypt carrying more than 4,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid designated for the Gaza Strip, according to official reports. The vessel’s arrival is part of the United Arab Emirates’ ongoing humanitarian efforts under Operation “Gallant Knight 3”, marking the country’s continued support for Palestinians in Gaza.

The shipment includes essential food supplies, shelter materials such as winter clothing and living necessities, as well as medicines, medical consumables and equipment. These humanitarian supplies aim to alleviate the suffering of civilians and meet urgent humanitarian needs, particularly for children, women and the elderly in Gaza.

UAE Humanitarian Aid Operation Continues

Ahmed Rashid Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, said the ship carries love, compassion and fraternity alongside the 4,000 tons of supplies. According to Al Zaabi, the cargo includes consumer goods, medical materials, medicines, food items and dates, representing a gift from the UAE to Gaza in honor of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

Upon arrival at Al-Arish port, the vessel was received by the UAE humanitarian assistance team who began procedures to unload the aid. The supplies are being transferred to the UAE humanitarian aid logistics center in Al-Arish in preparation for entry into the Gaza Strip, in coordination with official authorities and relevant humanitarian partners.

Coordination Efforts for Gaza Relief

Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and the country’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, praised the significant efforts made by the UAE humanitarian assistance team stationed in Al-Arish. The ambassador emphasized that their continuous work ensures the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, reflecting the UAE’s deeply rooted humanitarian values in supporting the Palestinian people.

This marks the 12th relief ship sent by the United Arab Emirates in support of Gaza under Operation “Gallant Knight 3”. The initiative underscores the nation’s established humanitarian approach to extending assistance to populations affected by crises around the world.

Humanitarian Aid Shipment to Gaza Reflects Regional Solidarity

The UAE’s humanitarian intervention through maritime aid deliveries has become a consistent feature of regional relief efforts. Additionally, the coordination between Emirati teams and Egyptian authorities demonstrates the collaborative approach required for effective humanitarian assistance in conflict zones.

The timing of this delivery ahead of Ramadan holds particular significance, as food security and basic necessities become even more critical during the holy month. However, the ongoing humanitarian situation in Gaza requires sustained international support beyond seasonal aid campaigns.

Meanwhile, the establishment of a dedicated logistics center in Al-Arish enables more efficient processing and distribution of humanitarian supplies. This infrastructure supports the UAE’s capacity to maintain regular aid shipments and respond to evolving needs on the ground.

In contrast to one-time emergency responses, Operation “Gallant Knight 3” represents a sustained commitment to addressing humanitarian challenges in Gaza. The operation’s third iteration builds on previous phases, demonstrating continuity in the UAE’s foreign humanitarian policy.

The distribution of aid will proceed pending final coordination with authorities and humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza. Officials have not specified an exact timeline for when supplies will reach their final destinations, though the logistics center infrastructure is designed to expedite the process.
