Partnership focuses on expanding green cover, supporting biodiversity, and embedding sustainability into both organisations’ operations

Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Dubai National Insurance (DNI) have launched a joint tree-planting programme called “Plant a Tree, Preserve the Future.” The initiative brings together two organisations with a shared focus on environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability, with trees being planted across the resort’s grounds.

The programme forms part of both organisations’ broader approach to sustainable operations. For Al Habtoor Polo Resort, it builds on existing environmental practices already in place across the property. For DNI, it translates the company’s ESG commitments into direct environmental action on the ground.

Mr. Charbel Yazbeck, Acting CEO of Dubai National Insurance (DNI), commented: “At DNI, sustainability is a core part of our responsibility and long-term strategy. Our ‘Plant a Tree, Preserve the Future’ initiative reflects our commitment to turning ESG principles into meaningful environmental action. We are proud to lead efforts that enhance biodiversity, strengthen communities, and help create a more sustainable future.”

Mr. Lukas Tremmel, General Manager of Al Habtoor Polo Resort, added: “Sustainability is essential to how we operate at Al Habtoor Polo Resort, sitting at the heart of everything we do. This initiative is a natural extension of our long-term environmental efforts, and through ‘Plant a Tree, Preserve the Future’, we are proud to work with Dubai National Insurance on a programme that delivers tangible environmental benefits while reinforcing the importance of collective action. By investing in our natural surroundings today, we are doing our part to protect and enrich the landscape for future generations.”

The tree species selected for the programme have been chosen for their resilience, suitability to the local ecosystem, and environmental benefit. The planting mix includes a variety of species, each chosen for their contribution to soil health, shade, and local biodiversity. The programme will increase green cover across the resort, improve air quality, and support the surrounding ecosystem.

Al Habtoor Polo Resort has pursued a range of environmental and community initiatives over the years, covering sustainable land management, responsible operations, and social impact programmes. The resort’s polo fields, landscaped grounds, and equestrian heritage provide a natural setting for this kind of environmental work, and the resort works with partners that share its long-term approach to environmental care.

Dubai National Insurance was founded in 1991 and is one of the UAE’s established insurance providers. The company has built its corporate approach around sustainability, integrity, and social responsibility, and its CSR strategy covers environmental protection, social responsibility, and sustainable business practice. The “Plant a Tree, Preserve the Future” initiative sits within that broader framework.
